June 11th Gettin’ Fit With It!
Today was a great day to sign a gym membership! I finally caved and spent the almost $80 for the summer membership because I’m still feeling like aside from my running, I’m not getting enough out of my workouts. I joined Fitworks because it’s close to my house and they offer group classes that I think would be perfect for my ‘Yoga needs’. I did their Centergy class and lifted and took the day off from running since my hip is excruciatingly painful lately! (overdoing it) However, I did end up eating dinner afterwards and I think I might’ve indulged a little too much. I am having a hard time justifying that my ‘indulgences’ in fruits, veggies, and lean protein are indulgences at all…
Today I signed up at my local Fitworks because it’s the closest to my house and the cheapest. I signed up mainly for their free weights and their group classes. So I took their Centergy class which is a mix of pilates and yoga and it’s an hour long and it was phenomenal! I worked up a sweat, kicked some butt, and felt great afterwards. Then I did some upperbody toning with five pound weights and abs/core strength. I’m looking into taking some spinning classes too?! We shall see!!
According to my Calorie Counter App I burned over 2,962 calories and consumed 2,189 for the day. Breakfast was Honey Nut Cheerios with Milk, a banana, coffee and the works. Lunch was a Greek yogurt, cantaloupe & strawberries, mixed greens salad with ranch, cucumbers, tomatoes, carrots & shredded mozzarella cheese, and some TLC Crackers for a snack at work. For dinner I turned down going to Cleats (a wings/burgers/beer) restaurant and stayed home and cooked! I had a lean burger grilled with some A1 and Worsteshire sauce, garlic couscous, broccoli and carrots with a lot of milk. Overall healthy, but ate a little too much because I ate after my workout instead of before. But it was all healthy and delicious! And it’s hard to justify salad, veggies, and milk as guilty food now, so I’m taking it with open arms.
